ASTM B622 Alloy B2 Seamless Tube Manufacturer
We, Xintongda Special Steel (XTD), are an ISO-certified manufacturer and worldwide supplier of Alloy B2 Seamless Tubes. This tube is a low-carbon nickel-molybdenum alloy engineered for harsh reducing conditions where material purity is essential. This non-oxidising alloy does not contain chromium and maintains a stable chemical composition. We manufacture our B2 tubes according to the ASTM B622 standard. It offers high resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric, and hydrochloric acids at various temperatures and concentrations. B2 tubes outperform C22 and C276 in pure reducing environments. The mechanical properties provide strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking in reducing environments. This tube has controlled tensile strength, consistent yield strength, and high elongation. The material is widely used for applications that require clean internal surfaces, such as chemical processing equipment, oil refining units, industrial heat exchangers and acid handling equipment. We provide these tubes in annealed, pickled, and polished finishes. We maintain strict inspection controls, complete traceability and consistent delivery through large-scale production facilities and global logistical capabilities. We supply Alloy B2 seamless tubes in bulk to customers all over the world.

Manufacturing Process of Alloy B2 Tubes
We manufacture premium Alloy B-2 seamless tubes by either cold drawing or hot extrusion. Following formation, the tubes are solution-annealed and subsequently water-quenched. The last phase includes pickling and straightening, and then the tube is sent for testing. Visit this page to study the manufacturing process in detail.
Properties of Seamless Alloy B2 Tubes
Our Alloy B-2 tubes are designed with unique features to ensure reliability in harsh chemical processing environments. Our 4 primary features make this alloy critical for handling hazardous acids:
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance in Reducing Environments: The alloy is resistant to corrosive attack in pure reducing media such as hydrogen chloride gas. We ensure that the chemical composition is balanced to withstand prolonged exposure without material loss.
- Resistant to Sulfuric & Non-Oxidising Acids: Our tubes perform well against non-oxidising fluids such as sulfuric acid. This feature is crucial for industries dealing with acid concentration and recovery systems.
- Strong Resistance to Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC): The high nickel and molybdenum content in this alloy prevents chloride buildup and resists stress corrosion cracking in such environments.
- Good Resistance to Organic Acid Corrosion: The material effectively resists organic acid corrosion, including acetic and formic acids. This enhances the application scope to cover a wide range of petrochemical processes that require a nonoxidizing alloy.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the difference between Alloy B2 and C276 Tubes? The difference between alloy B2 and C276 tubes is that alloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy designed particularly for pure reducing environments, such as hydrochloric acid. Alloy C276, on the other hand, has added chromium content that prevents oxidation and reduces acid streams more effectively.
-
Can Alloy B2 Tube handle high temperatures?Yes. Alloy B2 tubes can withstand high temperatures and retain excellent durability and corrosion resistance. Prolonged service exposure between 538°C and 816°C is generally avoided to prevent potential ductility loss.
-
What makes Alloy B2 Tube ideal for chemical processing?Alloy B2 tubes are suitable for chemical processing industries. They provide exceptional resistance to hydrochloric acid at all temperatures and concentrations. It also prevents the risk of premature equipment failure in chemical plants, where other alloys corrode quickly.
