ASTM A213 Stainless Steel 309 Seamless Tube Manufacturer

We are Xintongda Special Steel (XTD), a Premier manufacturer in China, for seamless tubes. We manufacture and supply stainless steel 309 seamless tubes. Also known as TP309 or alloy 309, this is a High-performance tube made from a ;single piece of austenitic stainless steel. It consists of 22-24% chromium, 12-15% nickel, around 2% manganese, and slight traces of other elements. Our TP309 seamless tubes are manufactured in strict compliance with ASTM A213, A269, A511, and EN 10216 standards. Due to its high amount of chromium and nickel, the TP309 provides excellent high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance up to 1038 °C (1900 °F) under non-cyclic conditions, and corrosion resistance. Due to these characteristics, the TP 309 SMLS tube finds its application in furnace components, heat exchangers, the petrochemical industry, and other major industries.

As a premier manufacturer and a major stockist for over four decades (stock list check Stock & Inventory – Zhejiang Xintongda Steel ), XTD delivers industry-leading lead times:

  • In-Stock Inventory: Ready for dispatch within 7 days.

Steps Involved in Manufacturing 309 Stainless Steel Tubing

To manufacture our SS 309 Seamless Tube, we first heat and pierce a solid billet of this alloy to make it hollow, then hot work and cold draw it to achieve precise dimensions. After that, solution annealing is performed to increase the tube’s high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. The last step is to pickle and straighten before we send the tubes for testing. What are the Key Features of 309 Stainless Steel Tube?

The 309 Seamless Stainless Steel Tube has 5 features that make it stand out. These are high temperature resistance, high chromium & nickel content, oxidation/scaling resistance, excellent corrosion resistance, and thermal shock resistance.

  • High Temperature Resistance: The high chromium and nickel content of the AISI 309 stainless steel tube stabilises the austenitic structure even when exposed to high heat. This prevents loss of strength, excessive grain growth, and structural instability, which is why the alloy performs well at elevated temperatures.
  • High Chromium and Nickel Content: The chromium present in the alloy increases oxidation and corrosion resistance, while the nickel content stabilises the microstructure and improves ductility.
  • Oxidation/Scaling Resistance: 309 stainless tube provides high oxidation resistance because chromium forms a layer of chromium oxide when exposed to oxygen at elevated temperatures.
  • Corrosion Resistance: The chromium-oxide layer, combined with the austenitic stability by nickel, helps the tube to withstand mild chemical exposure, combustion by-products, and high-temperature corrosive gases.
  • Thermal Shock Resistance: The austenitic microstructure of TP309 Seamless Stainless Steel tube helps it tolerate rapid heating and thermal shocks.
