Monel seamless pipe is a nickel-copper alloy pipe (63 to 70% Ni, 28 to 34% Cu) produced without a longitudinal weld from a solid billet by hot piercing and cold drawing. Its defining strengths are resistance to de-aerated hydrofluoric acid, high-velocity seawater, and reducing acids, plus stable strength from cryogenic temperatures to about 538 °C (1000 °F). We supply two grades: Monel 400 (UNS N04400) to ASTM B165 for solid-solution service, and Monel K-500 (UNS N05500) supplied to a company specification that references ASTM B865 for chemistry and age-hardened heat-treat condition (there is no dedicated ASTM standard for K-500 in seamless pipe or tube form). The Monel seamless pipe is a high-performance tubular product made from a nickel-copper alloy. It contains approximately 63-70% nickel and 28-34% copper. The term "seamless" indicates that these pipes are manufactured without any welded joints, which results in a uniform structure throughout the pipe wall. We produce Seamless Monel pipes using special processes to avoid weak points found in welded pipes. This construction method ensures consistent material properties and enhanced reliability under extreme conditions. Our Monel grades contain additional elements like iron (up to 2.5%) and manganese (up to 2%) to optimise performance characteristics for specific applications.

Manufacturing Process of Seamless Monel Pipe

We start the manufacturing process by heating and hot extruded a solid billet into a hollow shell. Later cold drawing is used to adjust the size and achieve a better surface finish. This age-hardenable alloy (UNS N05500 / 2.4375) is alloyed with aluminum (2.3–3.15%) and titanium (0.35–0.85%) to give it better mechanical strength. Our Monel K-500 seamless pipe provides significantly higher strength than Monel 400, making it suitable for high-pressure and heavy-load applications.
