ASTM A213 Stainless Steel 316LN Seamless Tube Manufacturer
We are Zhejiang Xintongda Special Steel (XTD), a trusted stainless steel 316LN seamless tube manufacturer and a global supplier. 316LN stainless steel tube is an austenitic stainless steel defined by its low carbon (≤ 0.03%) and high nitrogen (0.10 – 0.16%) content. This ensures the material's strength is improved compared to standard grades like 316 and 316L. We produce SS 316LN tubes in compliance with ASTM A213, A511, EN 1.4406 standards. This tube provides improved resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-bearing environments. SS 316LN tube is widely used in cryogenic and moderately high-temperature pressure applications where strength and corrosion resistance are critical. Our tubes are used in critical sectors like chemical processing, oil refining and marine engineering. Every tube undergoes strict quality checks before delivery. We are a multiple internationally certified supplier and provide this tube in about a week for stock orders.
As a reliable stainless steel 316LN tube supplier, we ensure our tubes meet the following specifications:
-
Standard
ASTM A213
-
OD Range
6.35-257 mm
-
Thickness
0.89-12.7 mm
-
Length
≤ 22 m

316LN Stainless Steel Tube Manufacturing Process
The manufacturing of 316LN stainless steel tubes starts with heating a high-quality steel billet and piercing it to create a hollow shell. This shell is cold-drawn or cold-rolled to get the right size and a smooth surface. Finally we perform solution annealing and straightening to make sure the tube meets all industrial performance standards. Key Characteristics of SS 316LN Seamless Tube
SS 316LN seamless tubes have 5 important features. These are high-strength, high-temperature performance, cryogenic performance, superior weldability and corrosion resistance.
- High Strength: The stainless steel 316LN tube provides significantly higher strength than the standard 316L grade because of the added nitrogen in it. This allows piping systems to have thinner walls without hurting the overall strength of the structure.
- High-temperature Performance: This stainless steel 316LN tube maintains its mechanical properties at elevated temperatures due to nitrogen alloying. This strengthens the austenite phase and increases resistance to thermal degradation. It also provides improved creep and stress-rupture strength as the low carbon content prevents chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries.
- Cryogenic Performance: Even at sub-zero temperatures, the material stays tough and ductile as its stable austenitic microstructure prevents the "ductile-to-brittle" transition. The high nickel and nitrogen content of the tube make it ideal for transporting liquefied gases. This ensures the structure remains flexible and resistant to cracking under extreme cold.
- Superior Weldability: The low carbon content of our SS 316LN tubes prevents carbide precipitation during welding. The presence of nitrogen helps retain strength in the heat affected zone. This ensures that the joints remain as strong and corrosion-resistant as the rest of the pipe.
- Corrosion Resistance: The molybdenum (2.00–3.00%) and nitrogen in the stainless steel 316LN tube effectively fight off pitting in chloride environments. It provides reliable resistance to harsh chemical and aggressive acidic solutions found in processing plants.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What corrosion resistance properties does 316LN stainless steel tube offer?316LN stainless steel tube provides superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments as it has molybdenum and nitrogen added to it.
-
What are the key specifications of 316LN seamless tubing?Key specifications of 316LN seamless tube include ASTM A213/ ASME SA213 standard, OD range between 6.35-257mm, thickness ranging between 0.89-12.7 mm and lengths max up to 22m.
-
Differences between 316 and 316LN stainless steel tubes? The difference between 316 and 316LN stainless steel tubes is that 316 tubes 316 has higher carbon (up to 0.08%) while 316LN has lower carbon (≤0.035%) plus nitrogen (0.10–0.16%). Low carbon prevents sensitisation during welding, while nitrogen compensates for the strength loss caused by lower carbon.
